'Transformers' hits the world

Every guy's favorite 'Transformers' rules the box-office chart last weekend with an impressive $67.6M in the US alone, excluding the $84.9M preview opening sales days before. This will surely elevate star status of movie neophytes Shia LeBeouf, Megan Fox and Josh Duhamel.

However, it would only be a weeklong celebration for the action-packed film, because next weekend, expect Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix to put some charms and dominate the US Box Office.

Estimated US Box Office Weekend Sales (July 06-08, 2007):

1. "Transformers," $67.6 million.
2. "Ratatouille," $29 million.
3. "Live Free or Die Hard," $17.4 million.
4. "License to Wed," $10.4 million.
5. "Evan Almighty," $8.1 million.
6. "1408," $7.1 million.
7. "Knocked Up," $5.2 million.
8. "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," $4.15 million.
9. "Sicko," $3.65 million.
10. "Ocean's Thirteen," $3.5 million.

In the Worldwide All-time Box Office, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End has already overtaken Spider-Man 3 and is trying to surpass Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, which is at #3. Shrek the Third is now at #37 and becomes the 3rd 2007 movie to reach the Top 50 All-time Box-Office in the whole world. Which movie is next to reach the Top 50? I think it will be Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
